So a couple weeks ago I was up late preparing a breakfast dish for the following morning. It was after 1am. I was in the middle of mixing some ingredients together when I realized I was one egg too short. I got in the car and headed to the nearest grocery store. It was closed. I went to the second closest grocery store. It was closed. I quickly realized Tempe is not Manhattan and that stores close much earlier. In Manhattan I could have gone grocery shopping at 4 in the morning at a place right down my street. Well, I ended up getting the egg I needed. At a Seven 11. Sketch. But whatevs, it turned out okay.

Moral of the story: I miss New York City. It's the little things that made me love that place so much.

[oh...and moral #2:  try to not start cooking something at 1:30 in the morning!]
