A couple weeks ago I happened to meet the managing editor of the Ensign.
After talking for a while, she handed me her business card and
invited me to come by her office.
So this afternoon I headed to Temple Square for my appointment with her.
I was issued a little ID guest pass and was escorted
to the 24th floor of the Church Office Building.
We sat in her office (which had an incredible view) and chatted before taking
a tour to see how and where all of the church magazines are created.
Being a graduate in Communications, I totally enjoyed it. Right up my alley.
I loved seeing the design layouts for future issues of the magazine,
learning about the copy editing process, hearing about how the articles are chosen,
seeing the artists in action and meeting members of the staff.

I never knew how complex of a process it was to produce one issue of a magazine.
After today, I love and appreciate the Ensign even more.
